Trip to Utah **LOTS of pictures**

As we do every Summer, we had the opportunity again to take a vacation to Utah to see family and friends. We really enjoyed our time there! We stayed pretty busy between both families plans and friend get togethers.

The drive up was a bit longer than we had planned, about 2 hours to be exact. Flagstaff had a fire that was stretching down toward the highway, so they made us take a detour...yikes. It was quite the detour! We were super glad we'd gotten up and on the road early! We saw A LOT of this on our little detour...
...it was, uh.....great!
But Christopher, Samantha and Chico are great travelers and before to long we saw our Welcome to Utah!
Half Way There!!

The first week we were there we stayed with Nana and Poppy. Chris, Sam, and I got to go to the Children's Tree House Museum in with Nana! We met Kathy, Zachary and Eliza there! It was so much fun!
Chris riding a bucking bull!
Sammy milking a cow!
Christopher taught Zachary how to play chess. They played for a long time and had a blast!
Sammy enjoyed putting on little plays for us in all the different costumes and then opening and closing the big curtains!
Kathy and Eliza tried to see how tall they could build a tower...
getting bigger! (I love the look on their faces here! Such excitement!!)
And then in goes down!
Woah! That was FUN!!
Later that week we went to the Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa! It was fun! The Hogle Zoo is a lot bigger than our zoo here in Tucson, with a lot more hills! I'm glad I survived!

When we were looking at the Tigers they were super active! I LOVE TIGERS! So I watched for quite a while! They were playing in the water and trying to get one of their toys out. It was fun to see how they worked together!
Another fun activity we enjoy during our annual summer trip to Utah is the Taylorsville Dayzz celebration. We always go to the parade that morning, the carnival during the afternoon, and then have a BBQ and enjoy some AMAZING fireworks that evening. The the whole clan comes to Nana and Poppy's house for a yummy BBQ and then we finish off the night with front row seats to the firework show (they set them off at the park that backs up to their backyard!) While we eat we "enjoy" some really bad karaoke and then they usually have a tribute band come for the big night concert just before the fireworks. It's always a great time and I love the tradition we have of getting together for it all!
Here are some pics from the parade, I didn't get pictures for the rest of the day, shame on me!
Waiting for the parade to start!
Chris and Jackson planning their next move for the grabbing of the tossed parade candy!
Chris run up to the mascot of the Salt Lake Community College and got a BIG hug...
...Samantha just watched!

While we were there we also took a trip downtown to walk the Temple grounds. Christopher knew that BJ and I had a picture taken here on our wedding day and wanted to have their picture taken there too! What a cute brother and sister! They sure do love each other!

On the train going home Samantha wanted to stand up by dad. She stood there and held his hand...I had to get a picture. I love to see her cute little hand held by her Daddy's strong hand. So many metaphors can come from great pictures like this!
On the 4th of July we were at Grandma and Grandpa's (BJ's parents) house. The kids all wanted to get up on the roof with Uncle Jason to watch for fireworks going off around the valley. What a great uncle!
Also, we were lucky enough to be in town when Cousin Jordan was baptized! We are so proud of him for making such a great decision to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! After the baptism we all went to Aunt Sandy and Uncle Lee's house to celebrate with...what else???? FOOD, FAMILY, and LAUGHTER!! (I took a bunch of pictures but NONE/very few of them really turned out...Boo!!)
While we were all there we also had cake (of corse it was the traditional Marzapan cake! YUM!!!) and ice cream and gift opening to celebrate Poppy's birthday that was the following day! What a wonderful day of celebration!
It was a WONDERFUL trip to Utah. We really enjoy being able to get together with everyone and have so much fun! We look forward to it again next summer!

Love you all!
