At Christopher's school they had a turkey decorating contest. They were given a piece of paper with a turkey printed on it. The assignment was to decorate it...but they couldn't use crayons, markers, pencils, or other "regular" art items. So we went to the craft store and looked to see what we could use to decorate it. We found some feathers, and some pipe cleaners, and some red sequins.
Christopher decided he wanted the feathers to go on the tail of the turkey and the pipe cleaners to be on it's body. So Christopher curled up the pipe cleaners and we glued on feathers and the curled up pipe cleaners. Then he decided he wanted to sequins for the turkey's "gobbler". It was a fun project and Christopher felt real good about the way it looked.
The next day he took it to school and turned it in. The following day was the judging. It was among the entire school Kinder-6th grade. . . and Christopher took 1st place!! He got a cute little stuffed teddy bear as his prize! Nice job Chris!!
