Literacy (Halloween) Parade

Today Christopher had his "Literacy Parade" (aka Halloween Costume Parade) at school. Their costumes had to be a character from a book and they were supposed to bring the book with them. It was fun! Christopher dressed up as Optimus Prime. He had a couple of Transformers books, but we were in a rush to get out the door and forgot them. . . Oops! Oh well, he wasn't the only one that forgot and it was ok!
They were not allowed to wear masks so I decided to paint the Autobot symbol on his cheeks. They turned out pretty cool!
(I am SO proud of Christopher for this picture. This boy is the class bully and Christopher, along with many others, have had some trouble with him. But while I was there, Christopher called him over, put his arm around his shoulders and asked me if I would take their picture.
What a great example of loving everyone...even the bullies.
Thanks for the lesson, Chris! Love you!)
Samantha got to dress up in her costume also. She was a beautiful Tinkerbell!! (Or in her words "gorgeous!")
It was a good time, we stayed and watched the parade and got to see Christopher with all his cute classroom friends! (They let Samantha be in the class picture. She can't wait until she gets to go to school!)
Tomorrow is the ward Trunk-or-Treat! The kids are super excited! It was very fun last year so they're anticipating the fun again this year!

Oh... I love the two transformer buddies. You really are an artist. It looks like a tatoo on his cheek! Happy Halloween. Their pumpkins turned out cute too!

Great costumes! Chris is such a sweet boy! Kids truly are the Christ-like examples we need to follow!
