The scenery was BEAUTIFUL!

And the cottages on campus were quaint.

BJ spent most of his days playing. . .

and he did some teaching. . .

but when he wasn't doing either of those. . . he was still playing!
While he was gone I decided it was silly to stay here in Tucson alone with the kids when we could be up in Utah with family. So when we left Utah the first time, my mom came down with us and stayed a week here before we all headed back up to Utah for the remainder of the time that BJ was gone.
We had a great time with friends and family and were able to do a lot of fun activities. We got together with the VP2 (Valley Park 2nd ward) girls and their kids . . .there were a bunch of us that all grew up together and were real close. It's fun that even though we are all spread out across the world - literally (Emily!!)- that we are still able to get together occasionally and catch up! We sure missed those that couldn't make it.

The next day was Poppy's birthday and we celebrated with the traditional marzipan cake! Yummy!!
The last week that we were in Utah the kids got to go to their friend William's house and play while I caught up with their mom and my wonderful friend Jill! I also got to hold her adorable little 4 month old Halle!! It was a great day!
Toward the end of our visit we spent A LOT of time working in the yard at Nanna and Poppy's house! They contracted to have their porch, sidewalk and driveway redone and there was a lot of work that needed to be done before the contractors could really get started. We cut back the Flowering Pear tree in the front yard and put vinyl sleeves on the posts on the porch...Whew! What a job! So glad we were able to get it done! Now I can't wait to see the porch, sidewalk and driveway when that job is finished, it is going to look BEAUTIFUL!
When the day came we packed up and took our drive back here to Tucson. We had a GREAT visit and miss everyone already! Remember, you are always welcome to take a trip down south and visit us here! We'll have a guest room in a couple of weeks!! :)

This was unfortunately taken after some had already left.
Then we had the Taylorsville Dayzz festivities including a parade, carnival, BBQ and fireworks. It's always been a fun tradition to all gather at Mom and Dad's house and party with the REAL BAD karaoke going in the background and then watch the awesome fireworks that are set off from just over the back fence. This year we had fun playing volleyball in the backyard before the fireworks started. It was a blast! I think it should be added to the tradition!! Thanks Kevin and Kathy for the fun idea!
At the carnival giving the "thumbs up" on this ride!
Chris and Sammy front row on the Dragon Roller coaster!
We wore Sammy out!
The kids took a day playing with grandma at Grandpa Great's house down in Wales and went to the fish hatchery. They still go on and on about how many fish there were and about watching them jump out of the water when they got to feed them! Fun times!
One of the nights we were there, after the kids were in bed, I was able to get together with "The Girls"! We met for dinner/ice cream at Leatherby's (Yummy!) and had a great time laughing and chatting into the wee hours of the morning! Thanks for the good times Girls! It was GREAT seeing you all!
We celebrated the 4th of July with Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma Great at "This is the Place" park. The kids got to ride horses, pet the baby animals and ride on the train!
