Valentine Service Project

This morning, our ward had a family service project activity. We went to the home of a family in our ward that needed some help cleaning up their yard.
It was a great opportunity for the kids to be able to participate in a service project, to experience the fun and feel the joy can can be felt from helping others in need. The kids were such WonDErfUL helpers!!
When we first got there we pulled a bunch of weeds and pruned bushes and trees in the back yard. Chris and Sammy were really good at picking up the pulled weeds, putting them in the garbage bags and holding the bags open for others to put trimmings in!

After we were done pulling weeds and pruning bushes and trees, we did some painting. They were pretty anxious to help with that as well! And they did a great job!

It was a great time and it felt good to be able to help others in their need.

After the service project, we had a BBQ lunch at the church. When we drove up to the church the Grills were set up in the parking lot and Chris yells out..."Now, that's what I call a BBQ!!" It was funny!
Inside we ate and visited with friends.

It was good times and a wonderful way so show our love for others on Valentines Day!

What a fun day...and such good helpers! I still can't get over how big Chris and Sammy are getting. Hope you had a fun birthday! It was fun to talk to you.

We both cried at the little helpers. As the weather begins to turn to spring we will surely miss the help. Fond memories of Chris and Sam pushing/pulling wheelbarrows and filling sacks and digging in the dirt come flooding back.
Thanks for this one.
Love you,
Mom and Dad (Bedont)
